The IPG has come a long way since its launch in 2013
The group is now associated with a network of over 200 plumbing, heating, and bathroom stores nationwide and works alongside many industry-leading manufacturers and suppliers. We are committed to encouraging installers, plumbers, and homeowners to support The IPG independent specialist nearest to them.
2013 – 2016
With a leap of faith from our founding members and suppliers, The IPG concept was brought to life.
As the passion and belief in the business grew rapidly, so did our membership. We welcomed our 100th member to the group in 2015. Shortly thereafter, the need for a larger office became apparent due to The IPG team's expansion, prompting us to move to a more spacious location in the autumn of 2016.
2017 – 2018
Several members of The IPG were invited to our first steering group meeting – which was set up to discuss ideas and plans. By the spring of the same year, we had introduced our 100th supplier to The IPG family.
Autumn brought a fabulous networking opportunity, as members and suppliers attended our first-ever conference, held at Mercedes Benz World.
Embraced by our member network, our charity partnership with Missing People #FindEveryChild was unveiled the following year, and this was closely followed by the launch of our first member websites powered by The IPG.
2019 – 2020
The IPG logo began to appear on member stores in August 2019, marking the reveal of the group’s dual-branded stores. All systems were set to go in September when we held our second conference at the National Space Centre.
The pandemic brought new challenges for everyone in 2020, but the strong support network within The IPG played a crucial role, providing reassurance and guidance to both members and suppliers during those difficult times. We even launched our first e-commerce website, hosted by us.
In 2021, The IPG team expanded once more, leading us to relocate to our current head office in Littlehampton, West Sussex. By Spring, we had launched our first bathroom brochure, which showcased a variety of products from several of our supplier partners.
In October, we rolled out the red carpet for our biennial conference at the Mermaid Theatre in London.
Following the success of our first bathroom brochure, we released the second issue in April, which was dual-branded to showcase and support our member stores.
Our charity partnership with Missing People #FindEveryChild led to a successful fundraising event over Easter, resulting in the announcement that we had raised over £33,000 for this worthy cause.
Finally, we launched our new website, establishing the perfect starting point for those looking to purchase the best brands locally at competitive prices.
